HIRING CAMP COUNSELORS FOR ALL CAMP LOCATIONS: SANDWICH, BARNSTABLE, FALMOUTH, WOODS HOLE, & HARWICH!
Position Summary:
Provides direct supervision of a group of children in a seasonal day camp. Provides a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
Essential Functions:
- Supervises a group of children.
- Assists with lesson plans and implements program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and consistent with YMCA values.
- Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards.
- Attends staff meetings and trainings.
- Maintains positive relations with parents and other staff. Models' positive relationship-building skills in all interactions.
- Maintains required certifications.
- Attends staff meetings and trainings.
- Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes reports as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Minimum age of 16 and (1) have at least four weeks experience as a participant in a structured group camping and/or at least four weeks experience in a supervisory role with children; or (2) have satisfactorily completed a camp counselor orientation program prior to the arrival of campers.
- Must be at least three years older than the campers whom they supervise.
- Previous experience working with children.
- Experience preferred in one or more of the following areas: outdoor living, archery, boating, camping, music, drama, sports, aquatics, recreational games, etc.
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
- Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.
Physical Demands:
Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position.
