POSITION SUMMARY:
Opportunities available at multiple locations, including Hyannis, Cotuit, Harwich, Falmouth and North Falmouth. Under the direction of the HS-EHS Early Education Center Director, ensures our preschool children have a solid foundation for life. Encourage the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of Head Start children and to attend to their safety and welfare. Promote family engagement in all aspects of the program. Meet requirements of Head Start Performance Standards and any local, state and/or organization policies and procedures.

· Help prepare classroom materials to support lesson plans; and to change and create learning centers as needed.
· Setting an emotional tone for the room that is responsive to children, parents and teachers.
· Perform daily housekeeping, cleaning, and keep the room organized.
· Educating and supporting parents as necessary.
· Work with the Lead Teacher and appropriate specialists to address the special needs of children.
· Helping with planning and implementing a curriculum that will enhance the development of the children in all areas (cognitive, physical, social, emotional).
· Assist in implementing lesson plans under Lead Teachers’ guidance.
· The teacher will approach issues and problems professionally and self-reflectively, work cooperatively with colleagues, attend staff meetings, and engage in ongoing staff development.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 6 months to 1 year of experience working with children preferred.
- Valid Driver's License
- Must be able to pass a background check through EEC
- Must be passionate and likes working with children
- Interested in becoming a certified teacher
