Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, excellent patient service skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, particularly within a Level II Trauma Center.
Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and medical histories.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality of all medical information.
- Coordinate with internal medicine and dermatology departments to facilitate patient care.
- Provide education to patients regarding their treatment plans and medication administration.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Skills
- Proficient in medical terminology relevant to inpatient and outpatient care.
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
- Experience in medication administration and understanding of various treatment protocols.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in a hospital setting.
- Knowledge of internal medicine practices and dermatological procedures is preferred.
