Upper School Math Teacher

Major Responsibilities:

· Teach 5 sections of Upper School math.

· Serve as a faculty advisor to 10-12 students.

· Provide a range of instructional and assessment strategies to meet the needs of all students.

· Collaborate with staff members to create engaging lessons and a positive school culture.

· Track student data and uphold high behavioral and academic expectations.

· Provide tutoring to individual and small student groups as required.

· Communicate and build relationships with students and families.

· Create an inviting and engaging classroom culture.

· Perform other projects and duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications: 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Teacher should be passionate with experience and knowledge in all levels of Upper School math through at least Precalculus. 

· Ideal candidate should have a demonstrated record of teaching excellence, a commitment to professional development, and the ability to motivate and encourage students academically and personally. 

· Teacher must possess a thorough knowledge of modern teaching methodologies, instructional techniques, and pedagogical principles. 

· Teacher should have an interest in and ability to contribute to extracurricular activities and a commitment to community and belonging.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Math field is required; Master’s degree preferred.

Experience: Five or more years of Math and Upper School teaching experience required. Demonstrated experience teaching various levels of mathematics. Experience teaching in an independent, college preparatory high school is highly preferred. 

Equivalency: Directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience may be considered in place of the above requirements.
