DEFINITION: Assist with Technical Theatre functions in the Studio Theatre for the AFA Theatre Program in the WA building at the Downtown Campus. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED: Receives direct supervision and/or technical direction from the Program Chair of TheatreMay occasionally receive general supervision from full-time instructors of theatre.Exercises no supervision of faculty or staff.Exercises some supervision of students.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
ESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS STATEMENT: Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to the following: Organizing, preparing, and maintaining theatre spaces for the AFA Theatre ProgramAssist with inventory and supply orders.Oversee open scene shop hours.Help to train students on proper tool use, maintenance, and safety.Maintain clean and organized workspaces.Maintain departmental storage spaces.Assist with classes taught in the Studio Theatre, Scene Shop, Drama Lab and Costume ShopOversee the implementation of policies and procedures related to required area and in accordance with CFCC policies and guidelines.Other Important Functions: May be responsible for hanging and focusing lights for departmental productions.May oversee student lighting crew.May oversee student scenic construction crew.May help train student stage managers.May have some responsibility for set up of sound equipment.

Special Instructions to Applicants: Position requires 25 hours per week and will require a small amount of evening and weekend hours in the Wilson Center on the downtown campus.Applicants should have experience in at least two of the following areas: Set construction, sound, lighting, or stage management This position REQUIRES UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS AND/OR TRAINING CERTIFICATIONS be submitted in addition to the application. Please have these documents ready to upload when applying. Successful candidates are required to submit official transcripts for all degrees obtained, within 30 days of hire date. If highest level of education is a High School diploma or equivalent, proof of completion is required. Successful candidates who have obtained their education outside of the US and its territories must have their academic degree(s) validated, at their own expense, by an outside credential evaluation service as equivalent to the Baccalaureate or Master’s degree conferred by a regionally accredited college or university in the United States.
