Summary
Responsible for delivering requested supplies and/or equipment from Central Supply -Distribution Storeroom to the and from the Pharmacy to designated areas throughout the facility (if needed). Picks up and delivers specimens to the lab as necessary (if needed). All tasks are completed under direct supervision of Central Supply Supervisor, or designated Charge Technician.Previous hospital experience helpful, but not mandatory. A minimum of 3 months experience consistently performing all tasks as listed for Tech 2 must be met, prior to competency sign off, and consideration for training and advancement opportunities to Tech 2. Reads, writes and speaks fluent English. Ability to interact with other employees in CS as well as other departments in the facility. Excellent customer service skills, to include effective oral communication, and critical thinking skills. Ability to be flexible to daily changes in operational and patient care issues. Ability to multi-task if necessary. Discretion in the proper handling of confidential information is mandatory. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate these when necessary.Must be able to see and hear. Must be capable of withstanding the fatigue associated with continuous walking and standing. Must be capable of delivering supplies and lifting objects that may weigh as much as 50 pounds and pushing carts with rolling weight as much as 100 pounds.
