Summary
The CT Technologist is fully competent to perform all CT procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of specified diseases or conditions.
The following is summaries of the major essential job functions of this job. The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below; and specific functions may change from time to time.
Fully competent to perform all procedures designed within the CT Section of Radiology. Demonstrates competency and efficiency in the treatment, care of and interaction with all patients of any age group to include neo-natal, newborns, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. Fully competent in the technical operation of equipment. Assesses the patient, reviews charts for orders and lab results, completes data sheet and communicates with the Radiologist as to the availability of all of the above and reason for the procedure. Prepares the patient for the procedure, answers any questions or directs questions to the Radiologist. Responsible for the prompt completion and accurate recording of exam begin and end time in the Radiology Information System (RIS) to ensure timely access to study by the radiologist, and to maintain department productivity relative to work area. Provides a safe environment to include but not limited to radiation exposure, contrast administration and infection control guidelines/Universal Precautions. Maintains required credentialing and registry. Maintains annual mandatory hospital training. Maintains exceptional guest relations with patient, visitors, hospital staff and medical staff to include the use of AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, & Thank You).
Education And Formal Training
ARRT Certified required. Advanced CT Registry required within one year of hire date. AHA (American Heart Association) CPR Certification required. Experienced in the treatment, care of and interacts with patients of all ages to include neo-natal, newborns, adolescents, pediatrics, adults and geriatrics preferred.
