Summary
Performs non-invasive cardiac diagnostics procedures including electrocardiography, cardiac stress tests, ambulatory EKG monitors.Two years experience with cardiology procedures and/or Cardiovascular Credentialing International certification preferred. Associate of Applied Science degree is encouraged. Verbal ability required to understand test procedures and to explain them to patients. Form perception required to compare recorded patterns to characteristics of normal patterns. Clerical ability required to accurately record patient information. A preference for scientific and technical activities required to understand and operate electronic test equipment. Must be able to deal confidently on a one-to-one basis with all types and ages of people. Work situation demands flexibility. Must be able to take independent action. Worker must maintain a neat, clean and professional appearance at all times. Must respect patients, families and confidentiality.Manual dexterity required to perform diagnostic tests. Ability to use both hands independently. Excellent visual and auditory acuity. Lifting is moderate to heavy. Assisting patients on treadmill may be physically demanding. Patient lifting and transport. Exposure to minimal amount of radiation. Potential for eye strain due to monitoring of CRT. Works inside. Position may involve skin, eye, mucous membrane, or parental contact with blood or potentially infectious material.
