Summary
Organizes the resources of the Physical/Occupational, Speech/Audiology, Psychology, and Recreationl Therapy Departments to provide efficient quality patient care within budgetary guidelines. Acts as a resource for staff on the application of current practice standards, providing direct patient care on an as needed basis within the scope of their profession.
Five years of clinical experience and prior supervisory experience required. Experience supervising multiple departments preferred. Leadership skills to motivate staff performance. Knowledge of appropriate clinical equipment. Must function effectively in life threatening situations and be flexible under stress as well as exercise good judgment in coping with problems of patients, families and personnel. Must have command of the English language. Must be able to identify age appropriate goals and treatment strategies for pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations.Position may involve skin, eye, mucous membrane, or parenteral contact with blood or other potentially infectious material. Work requires long periods of standing, walking or sitting. May involve occasional heavy lifting. Possess visual and auditory acuity for effective communications and accurate patient assessment.
