Summary
This position will have responsibility for achieving supply expense management initiatives and targets utilizing the value analysis process on a total annual spend in excess of $160 million. As such, the position will direct the value analysis process to provide high quality, efficient, and cost effective products and services. This process will require the establishment and adherence to a streamlined method for standardizing and monitoring product/service selection, utilization, and costs. This position will provide clinical and strategic expertise that facilitates supply expense management while continuously improving all processes that support patient care, education and research. This position will work closely with the VP of Support Services to accurately report and manage the overall implementation of supply chain improvement efforts related to the Value Analysis process.
Education and Formal Training:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Industrial Engineering, or Finance.
Work Experience:
At least 7 years in a progressively more responsible role in a diverse and operationally complex health care environment. Masters in Business Administration, Health Science, or related discipline preferred. Must have supply chain work experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Experience in cost containment and expense management activities.
- Proven management skills, including program planning and development, project management, and performance and quality management.
- Demonstrated analytical experience with knowledge of financial and accounting concepts.
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills and the ability to drive consensus.
- Computer competency — Microsoft suite — (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required. Knowledge of Access desirable.
- Strong communication skills, which will encompass both oral and written including the ability to give presentations to physicians, clinicians, and administrators.
- Demonstrated problem-resolution skills.
- Understands inter-workings of supply chain activities.
- Ability to interact and manage relationships with vendors.
Physical Requirements:
Verbal ability is required to communicate effectively with all constituents. Finger dexterity and motor coordination are required to work keys of computer and calculator.
