Summary
Perform all assigned duties with little or no supervision. Responsible for meeting QA and Infection Control Procedures and standards as outlined in current policies. Is proficient in advanced instrumentation and the sterilization processes utilized by this department.
Sterile Processing or Operating Room experience preferred. Reads, writes, speaks and understands English. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate these when necessary. Motor coordination and manual dexterity are required to decontaminate, process, and sterilize instruments and equipment. Must be able to pull cases needed for surgical procedures as well.Must be able to see and hear. Visual acuity is necessary when working with delicate instruments. Manual dexterity required when reaching, handling, adjusting and lifting instrument trays or boxes that may weigh as much as 50 pounds. Pushing carts with loaded weight as much as much as 100 pounds and long periods of standing are required to perform daily activities.
