Kwaan Tech is seeking a visionary and experienced Creative Director to lead the development and execution of innovative communication strategies that align with the mission of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, Chemical and Biological Technologies Department (DTRA CB) Strategic Communications Contract. This role requires exceptional creativity and leadership to produce high-impact visual and multimedia materials that effectively communicate complex scientific and technical concepts to diverse audiences. The Creative Director will oversee the design, production, and quality assurance of all creative outputs, ensuring alignment with branding and organizational objectives. This position requires an Active Secret Security Clearance and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while managing multiple projects under tight deadlines. Core Duties :

Creative Strategy and Vision :

Develop and implement creative strategies that align with DTRA CB's strategic communication plan and organizational objectivesDefine and maintain a consistent creative vision across all communication products, ensuring alignment with DTRA CB branding and messaging standardsProvide oversight and guidance on the conceptualization and production of visual and written materials, ensuring innovative and high-impact creative outputsContent and Media Development :

Lead the design and production of multimedia materials, including graphics, videos, animations, and interactive content, to effectively communicate complex scientific and technical conceptsCreate templates and style guides for presentations, brochures, newsletters, and other communication products to ensure consistency and qualityOversee the development of visual elements, including infographics and displays, to enhance communication materials and support stakeholder engagementProject Leadership and Collaboration :

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including the DTRA CB Communications Team, Program Manager, and subject matter experts, to develop cohesive and impactful creative materialsManage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to deadlines, quality standards, and budget constraintsProvide creative direction and support for conferences and events, including exhibit booth designs, promotional materials, and virtual or physical event aestheticsQuality Control and Branding :

Ensure all creative materials meet established quality standards and adhere to branding guidelinesConduct reviews and provide feedback on creative outputs to maintain a high standard of professionalism and effectivenessMonitor emerging trends in design and communication to integrate innovative approaches into DTRA CB's creative effortsEvent and Campaign Support :

Develop and execute creative elements for campaigns tailored to specific audiences, utilizing various media platforms to maximize engagementOversee the visual and thematic design of large-scale events such as the biennial Chemical Biological Defense (CBD) Science & Technology (S&T) ConferenceCoordinate the design and logistics for exhibit booths, ensuring effective representation of DTRA CB capabilities and core competenciesStakeholder Engagement and Presentation :

Support the preparation of briefing materials and presentations for senior leaders, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and creative excellenceDesign and deliver visually compelling materials that effectively communicate DTRA CB's mission, programs, and achievements to stakeholders, including government officials, academia, and the general publicLeadership and Mentorship :

Lead and mentor creative staff, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environmentProvide training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of the creative teamServe as a key advisor on creative strategy, ensuring alignment with DTRA CB's communication goals and objectivesTravel Requirements

Requirements :

Bachelor's degree in graphic design, fine arts, marketing, communications, or a related fieldAt least 7 years' experience in creative roles, with at least 5 years' supervisory experience managing creative teamsProven track record of leading creative projects, developing innovative campaigns, and producing high-quality multimedia contentAbility to conceptualize and execute creative strategies that align with organizational objectives and resonate with diverse audiencesMastery of design tools and software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite), with a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in graphic design, video production, and multimedia developmentProven ability to lead and inspire a creative team, manage multiple projects, and ensure the delivery of high-quality outputs under tight deadlinesExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex ideas into compelling visuals and narrativesResourcefulness in integrating emerging design trends, technologies, and best practices into creative workflowsIn-depth knowledge of multimedia production processes, including graphic design, video editing, animation, and interactive mediaFamiliarity with visual storytelling techniques and data visualization tools to simplify complex concepts for varied audiencesPossess a thorough understanding of branding principles, including consistency in color palettes, typography, and visual elementsExperience with web and social media platforms, ensuring creative outputs are optimized for digital channelsKeen attention to detail in both the creative process and final deliverablesAbility to balance long-term creative vision with short-term project executionTeam player who can effectively coordinate with stakeholders, including communication teams, subject matter experts, and external partnersAdept at troubleshooting creative challenges and finding innovative solutionsSome travel may be requiredHighly Desired Qualifications

Experience working within the DoD or other government agencies, with knowledge of their specific branding and communication requirementsFamiliarity with scientific and technical communication, especially in areas such as chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear defenseEstablished relationships with key creative agencies or media outlets that support government communications

Must currently possess and maintain an Active Secret Security ClearanceMust have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
