Cape Fox Federal Integrators (CFFI) is seeking a Research Coordinator. The C-STARS Cincinnati Research Coordinator Support position provides a high degree of competency in clinical and basic science research and direct experience of strong administrative leadership, and technical support to ongoing research programs. The individual shall have demonstrated an exceptionally high capacity for performing unsupervised research with excellent communication skills.
Remote work within OHIO is allowed.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Determine exclusion and inclusion criteria for clinical trials.
- Screen admitted patients for potential enrollment approach.
- Coordinate with the clinical trials director.
- Develop, design and maintain Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) applications/on line databases.
- Develop, design and maintain Microsoft Access Databases and SQL Databases for research collection tools.
- Use and troubleshoot various environmental/altitude chambers during use in research projects.
- Collaborate with the Center for Sustainment of Trauma and Readiness Skills for medical research development and or completion of on-going projects.
- Create, review, and update medical research protocols.
- Create, review, and update final technical reports, manuscripts, posters, white papers for dissemination of medical research findings.
- Manage the Scientific and Technical Information (STINFO) and Operational Security (OPSEC) clearance process for dissemination approval.
- Perform medical technology and device testing and evaluation as well as bench altitude/environmental chamber operations.
- Manage and track DoD purchased assets.
- Perform medical research while on military aircraft with knowledge and understanding of military requirements and procedures.
Job Requirements:
Mandatory Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and demonstrate at least 15 years’ experience as a Trauma Critical Care Nurse and demonstrate at least 5 years of basic science research, medical technology research specifically related to Critical Care Air Transport Teams and bedside research.
- Licensed in the state of Ohio and maintain required and professional licensures.
- High degree of competency in clinical and basic science research and direct experience of strong administrative leadership, and technical support to ongoing research programs.
- Exceptionally high capacity for performing unsupervised research with excellent communication skills.
- High level of understanding of programming languages used in the design of research databases (Visual Basic, Visual Basic for Applications, SQL, PERL).
- Medically qualified to work in an altitude chamber (AF Form 1274) and fly during CCATT training flights (AF 1042, IAW AFI 48-123, and Operational Support Flying Duties).
- Ability to use and troubleshoot various environmental/altitude chambers during use in research projects.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a passport for potential overseas travel.
Highly Desired Qualifications
- Ability to assist with procedures to include establishment and maintenance of central/arterial lines, intubation procedures and surgical procedures as established by the attending physician.
- Ability to operate autonomously in the monitoring of hemodynamic, respiratory and neurological status’ and appropriate treatment response as set forth by the protocol/physician.
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of understanding on medical equipment and devices commonly used in an Intensive Care Unit to include (Items listed in the CCATT Allowance Table, 731 Impact Mechanical Ventilator, Power Lab, Mouse Ox, Moberg, GAMPT, Cortical Impactor, EKG monitoring systems, COCO-80x, Raumedic Fluid Warming technology, Licox, Hemedex, Altitude Chamber) and standard laboratory equipment.
- Ability to gain IACUC training for potential large animal research support.
