What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant II - Central Junior High position at Cape Girardeau Public Schools?
The School District of Cape Girardeau is seeking an Administrative Assistant for Central Junior High School for the 2025-26 academic year. This is an Ten (10) Month contract position.
The Administrative Assistant to the Principal is responsible for directly supporting the school's leadership team as needed. In addition to assisting the Principal in the general delivery of school services, this position assumes primary responsibility for managing the following tasks, finances, substitute teachers, student awards and recognition, keyholder, after-school programming, facilities scheduling & rentals, and safety & security data logging.
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent; supplemented by minimum two years previous experience and/or training that includes secretarial or clerical work, or any equivalent combination of related education, training and experience
- Must possess strong organizational skills as well as the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment, prioritize tasks and work independently with a high degree of accuracy
- Demonstrate excellent skills in computer word processing, spreadsheets and databases
- Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must be team oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Must maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information as required by law
- Demonstrated ability to meet and effectively deal with the general public in a courteous manner
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in related field.
- Experience working in Education environment.
