Spanish Immersion Teacher- Elementary School
Location: Cape Henlopen School District. Lewes, Milton & Rehoboth Beach, DE
Spanish Immersion Teachers:
- Plan, teach, and assess elementary K-5 math, science and Spanish literacy.
- Team with an English-partner teacher as part of the dual immersion program.
- Strive to implement, by instruction and action, the District’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives
- Plan a program of study that is designed to meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
- Applicants will be required to work in schools within the Cape Henlopen School District, all within the same MSA.
Required Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field
- Must hold or be eligible for a State of Delaware Teaching License
- Must hold or be eligible for certification in Elementary (K-6) or Early Childhood (Birth-Grade 2)
- Must hold or be eligible for certification in World Language (K-12) or Bilingual Teacher (K-12) in Spanish
- Must have specialized training/student teaching in grades K-12
- Must be able to achieve a rating of passing or higher on the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages Oral Proficiency Interview (ACTFL OPI)
- Must be able to achieve a rating of passing or higher on the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages on the Writing Proficiency Test (ACTFL WPT) or Praxis II: Spanish Test (Test code: 5195) and
- Must be able to successfully complete and pass Praxis #5001 or Praxis Elementary Education Content Knowledge and
- Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check
A satisfactory Criminal Background Check, DE Child Protection Registry, and TB test are required for all new employees.
