Cape is looking for a Senior AI/ML Software Engineer to help build Cape's innovative enterprise AI platform. Cape software installs into the customer's own data center or VPC, and leverages local and public large language models and machine learning models to implement custom workflows and document creation. Cape helps businesses get real value out of today's generative AI capabilities.

Responsibilities
- Prototype and evaluate generative AI solutions tailored to specific customer problems and use cases
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve AI-focussed software features
- Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
- Clarify and ensure the technical feasibility of product requirements
- Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
- Keep abreast of the latest developments in generative AI
- Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
- Mentor less experienced team members
- Conduct thorough testing of your work, and participate in peer reviews within your team
Key Qualifications
- A great attitude, effective communication skills, and a strong sense of ownership
- BS in computer or data science, or equivalent experience
- At least 7 years professional work experience building performant, user-friendly, reliable software systems
- Significant experience working with machine learning and generative AI models, frameworks, and pipelines
- Experience deploying and evaluating ML systems in production
- Ability to write high-quality, well-tested code in Python
- Significant experience working with machine learning and generative AI models, frameworks, and pipelines
- Experience working on backend system services, such as databases, distributed systems, real time applications, etc.
