These services include the world-famous Glass Bottom Boat Tours, Paddling Adventures canoe and kayak rentals on the Silver River, retail, food & beverage, catering and special events management. We are seeking enthusiastic Glass Bottom Boat Dockhands to welcome and check-in guests for Boat Tours. Guest Service experience is required. This is a customer service position. You will be required to interact with and entertain guests throughout your entire shift.
Position Title: Dockhand, Glass Bottom Boat Terminal
Reports to: General Manager
Primary Responsibilities: Guest Service Experience Required!
· Prepare boats in morning, loading day supplies such as ice cooler and bottled water.
· Assist Boat Captains with docking. Tie off boats according to established procedures prior to passenger loading/unloading.
· Provide friendly, timely and safe loading of Glass Bottom Boats.
· Ensure that guest counts for each boat tour do not exceed the prescribed passenger capacity, while keeping visiting groups together on the same boat. Enter counts into passenger log.
· Act as dock host, interfacing with guests waiting for the next tour.
· Answer guest questions.
· Ensure dock area is clean, free of litter and free of any hazards.
· Maintain a good knowledge of the Park and current events in order to expedite guest inquiries
· Other duties as required.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
· Must be 18 years of age or older
· Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
· Excellent organizational skills
· Excellent driving record (insurance requirement)
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to move, stand, stoop and bend for an entire 8-hour shift. Tasks require consistent use of both arms and legs.
· Must be willing to tolerate working outdoors.
· Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and carry for short distances.
· Must be able to visually inspect condition of vessels, river and equipment.
