Job Title: Dock Master/ Assistant Club Manager
Reports to: Marina & Club Manager
Summary
Established marina in Cape May experienced Dock Master. This position is available starting on March 1st.
Job Duties and Responsibilities (others may be assigned)
Marina
· Responsible for the overall success of Cape May Marina and Cape May Paddle Club - Private Club
· Assists boaters in marine-related duties including securing boats to the dock, assist boarding, moving items from car to vessel, fueling, trash disposal, connecting, and monitoring utility service.
· Hire and Train associates on general refueling procedures, marine-related duties, cleaning procedures, customer service and safety guidelines.
· Assists Marina Manager with the efficient scheduling of associates to ensure adequate coverage for the marina, fuel dock, and club.
· Implement and updates a check list that identifies key responsibilities to be performed on a daily/weekly basis to ensure smooth marina operations. Also creates weekly report for Marina Manager that summarizes key operational issues and concerns.
· Ensure the marina is properly maintained and any necessary repairs are completed in a timely manner.
Private Pool Club
· Ensure the Pool and Club is properly maintained, and any necessary repairs are completed in a timely manner.
· Ensure all members of the private club are abiding by all rules in the handbook; Ensure only registered members of the private club are accessing the club’s facility.
· Ensure the pool chemistry is properly maintained, and all testing is logged in accordance with NJ Heath Department regulations.
· Hire and Train associates on general pool maintenance and testing, cleaning procedures, customer service and safety guidelines.
· Meet with and follow-up on outside contracted services (i.e. pool repair, trash pickup, landscaping).
Skills/Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Knowledge of the methods, tools and equipment used to repair docks, walkways, piers, dock pedestals, electrical, and plumbing.
· Minimum 2-4 years of relevant work experience in electrical, plumbing, or construction
· Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in management
· Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and work under deadlines.
· Solid communication (both verbal and written) skills.
· Marina Operations – Must have knowledge of boating, policies, procedures, lease management.
· Ability to operate a forklift
· Ability to operate 17ft work skiff
· Knowledge of Microsoft word and excel

While performing the duties of his role the associate:
· Is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
· Is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, or machines.
· May work near, or around toxic, or caustic chemicals while wearing proper personal protection equipment and following strict company standards.
· Is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock.
· May fall into the water therefore must know how to swim.
· Be able to lift forty pounds.
· Must be willing to occasionally travel to other locations. (Brigantine, Somers Point)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
