Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to provide high-quality patient care in various settings, including clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. Your primary focus will be on assisting patients in their rehabilitation journey, ensuring they achieve optimal recovery and improved quality of life.
Duties
- Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans for patients with diverse needs, including geriatrics and pediatrics.
- Provide direct patient care by administering therapeutic exercises and modalities.
- Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising physical therapist.
- Participate in discharge planning to ensure a smooth transition for patients returning home or moving to another care setting.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, exercises, and home care strategies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress notes in compliance with facility policies.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes through effective communication and teamwork.
- Utilize knowledge of physiology and trigger point therapy techniques to enhance treatment effectiveness.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Experience in various settings such as clinics, skilled nursing facilities, or home health is preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of patient care principles and rehabilitation practices.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.
- Ability to demonstrate empathy and patience while working with patients of all ages and backgrounds.
- Knowledge of discharge planning processes is a plus.
- Familiarity with trigger point therapy techniques is advantageous but not mandatory.
