Short Description
- Interprets and enters physicians orders in computer
- Fills medication orders, aseptically compounds IV solutions and cytotoxic agents
- Accurately sets and checks medication cassettes
- Monitors drug therapy for contraindications, incompatibilities interactions, and dosing errors including those indicative of specific age groups
- Contacts medical and nursing personnel as appropriate
- Provides drug information to medical and nursing personnel as required
- Issues control-led substances to patient care areas and maintains records as required by law and hospital policy
- Performs inventories of CDS as required by pharmacy procedures.
Experience Required :
Education Required :
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
License / Certification Requirements :
Currently licensed to practice Pharmacy in the State of New Jersey or eligible for licensure by examination or reciprocity.
