Who We Are Looking For:
We are currently seeking an Associate Apparel Designer to work at our South Hackensack, NJ Office for the Capelli Sport brand. This is a full-time position in our South Hackensack office working 5 days a week. The associate designer will be responsible for assisting in all phases of the design and development process from initial concept to production for men’s, women’s and youth activewear.
Responsibilities:
1- Sketch and revise cads and artwork in Adobe Illustrator
2- Create and revise overview line sheets, assign style numbers
3- Create and maintain tech packs in the PLM system
4- Measure reference samples and add measurements in the PLM system
5- Review and comment on development samples received
6- Attend live and form fittings, make comments and revisions
7- Conduct research as needed
8- Assist in sourcing fabrics and trims
9- Attend customer meetings as needed
Skills and Requirements:
1- Bachelor’s degree in fashion design is required
2- Preferred experience of 2-3 years; activewear is a MUST
3- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
4- Strong sense of the design process, apparel construction/size specs, fabric, and embellishments
5- Must possess exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
6- Ability to remain flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient while under pressure is crucial
7- Ability to prioritize, multi task, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment in order to meet deadlines
8- Encompass a positive attitude and work ethic, with exceptional follow up skills
9- Must have the ability to be punctual, prepared, and professional
