What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shop and Field Technician position at Capex Oilfield Services?
Capex Oilfield Services is a privately owned company providing rental equipment, service, and support to the energy industry. We are looking to add to our thriving organization and are seeking a Shop and Field Technician for our Midland, Texas, branch. Familiairity with diesel engines is an asset.
The Shop/Field technician will be responsible for the following:
- Cleaning, washing, and organizing equipment, shop, well-sites, and yard.
- Assisting with minor repairs and maintenance of all Capex equipment.
- Operating a loader, forklift and driving company trucks.
- Service and maintenance of our company trucks, pumps, tanks, generators, centrifuges, wellsite accommodations and all other equipment in the shop and field.
- Maintaining a high standard of quality control and organization in the shop.
- Troubleshooting mechanical issues in the field and assisting with field rig ups and service calls.
- Adhering to all industry HSE regulations and requirements.
- Cross training in other areas and supporting with other duties as required.
The desirable candidate will possess:
- A positive attitude and a desire to learn.
- Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to work in the field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Direct experience inspecting, repairing, and maintaining generators.
- The ability and desire to learn, self-motivation, and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Previous oilfield, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical experience is desired.
- A valid and current driver’s license and ability to pass a drug and alcohol test.
- The ideal candidate will be willing to work both in the shop and in the field and will be capable of working long hours independently.
