Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement a comprehensive test automation strategy aligned with project goals, including test coverage, automation frameworks, and tool selection.
- Identify areas for automation within the software application and develop test plans to achieve optimal coverage.
- Design and develop reusable test automation frameworks to streamline testing processes and improve efficiency. (Playwright framework experience will be added advantage)
- Select and integrate appropriate automation tools for web, mobile, API, and other testing needs.
- Lead and mentor a team of test automation engineers, assigning tasks, reviewing work, and fostering skill development.
- Manage team performance and provide feedback
- Collaborate with developers and QA engineers to create robust automated test cases covering different scenarios and functionalities.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts for regression testing, performance testing, and functional testing.
- Monitor test execution and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
- Identify, log, and prioritize defects effectively using defect management tools.
- Collaborate with development teams to resolve identified defects promptly.
- Generate comprehensive test reports with detailed metrics on test coverage, execution time, and defect trends.
- Analyze test results to identify areas for improvement and optimize automation strategies.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
- Expertise in various test automation frameworks
- Proficiency in programming languages like Java, JavaScript for test script development.
- Experience in designing and implementing test automation frameworks
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter is a plus
- Proven track record of leading and mentoring a team of test automation engineers
