The Wireless & DNAC Engineer will support a complex global network by ensuring the operational readiness, stability, and performance of wireless and routing infrastructure. This role involves top-level support for wireless technologies, routing protocols, and monitoring tools, working closely with engineering and architecture teams to manage production environments and resolve escalated issues. The position requires extensive expertise in Cisco DNAC, wireless infrastructure (Aruba and Cisco), and packet analysis tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as a top-level expert for routing and switching via Cisco DNA Center (DNAC).
- Assure operational readiness for new projects and devices added to the network.
- Support routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, ISIS, and Logical Overlay, and manage spanning tree configurations.
- Manage and support wireless infrastructure, including Cisco and Aruba wireless solutions.
- Conduct packet capture analysis using tools like Netscout NGenius and Wireshark.
- Mentor junior staff in process execution, technology, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Partner with the NMS tools team to develop monitoring techniques and improve existing ones.
- Contribute to maintenance and deployment activities and document new events and learnings.
- Assist with resolving service interruptions and remediating issues in production.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Support data center technologies like Cisco HSRP, VRF Lite, VPC, and F5 load balancers.
- Engage in WAN-related tasks, including BGP, MPLS VPN, IOS-XR, and multicast configuration.
- Provide support for carrier circuits and termination equipment (e.g., E1/T1/DS3).
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Expertise:
- Expert knowledge in Cisco DNA Center, wireless protocols, and routing protocols.
- Proficiency in tools such as Aruba Airwave, Cisco Prime, Netscout, and Wireshark.
- Strong understanding of the OSI model, TCP/IP, and advanced routing and switching.
- Experience with packet capture methodologies and analysis.
Certifications (Preferred):
- CCNP-X, ACSP, ACMP, RCSP, or equivalent certifications.
Experience:
- 10 years in operational and engineering roles in network and application architecture.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus technologies and WAN accelerators.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to mentor and lead junior staff.
- Flexibility to support on-call rotations and meet project demands.
Work Environment:
- Onsite work at the client site, with flexibility to support the position’s schedule demands.
