- Role: GCP Application Architect with strong programming expertise in Java and/or Ruby to support a critical cloud migration project in the Financial Services and Payments sector. The role focuses on transitioning AWS Lambda functions to GCP Cloud Functions, and ensuring that applications meet high standards of performance, security, and compliance.
- This is a hands-on architectural role, ideal for someone with solid cloud application design skills, deep programming knowledge, and experience working in fast-paced, regulated environments.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Application Architecture: Design, develop, and migrate cloud-native applications from AWS Lambda to GCP Cloud Functions.
- Programming Leadership: Leverage strong Java and/or Ruby skills to modernize serverless applications and integrate with other GCP services like Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Firestore, and Cloud Run.
- Cloud Migration: Lead the refactoring and transformation of Lambda-based workloads to align with GCP-native patterns.
- Compliance & Security: Ensure solutions are compliant with financial industry regulations such as PCI-DSS and support secure design practices.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cloud engineers, developers, and stakeholders to drive successful application migration and deployment on GCP.
- Documentation: Create architecture designs, migration guides, and technical documentation for development and operations teams.
- Performance Tuning: Analyze current AWS-based applications and optimize them for cost, latency, and performance on GCP.
Required Qualifications:
- 6 years of overall software development experience, including recent roles in cloud architecture or application modernization.
- Strong development experience in Java and/or Ruby.
- Solid understanding of Google Cloud Platform services, processes, and best practices.
- Experience working with serverless architectures and designing scalable, event-driven applications.
- Basic understanding of AWS Cloud Platform and Services.
- Experience in the Financial Services and Payments domain, with attention to security, latency, and compliance requirements.
- GCP Associate Cloud Engineer certification is highly preferred.
- Prior experience in AWS Lambda to GCP Cloud Functions migration projects.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps workflows, and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
- Familiarity with industry-specific compliance standards (PCI-DSS, GDPR, etc.).
- Knowledge of asynchronous messaging, REST APIs, and background job processing.
