Job Description - Python -Software QA Engineer (078622)

Capgemini Engineering is looking for an experienced Python -Software QA Engineer to join our engineering team. The engineer will be responsible for functionality, performance, and stability of our in-house tool suite. You will work closely with software engineers and other stakeholders to understand requirements, identify potential issues, and drive quality throughout the development lifecycle.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Design and implement unit and system-level tests for our Silicon CAD tools and flows.
  • Develop and maintain automated test suites using Python version 3.1.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of our CI / CD pipeline.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects, working closely with developers to resolve issues.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving software quality best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Analyze test results and provide feedback to development teams.
  • Stay up to date with the latest testing methodologies and technologies.

Key Skills :

  • 5 - 10 years of experience in Software QA, with a focus on building unit and system tests with Python 3.1x. Experience with Python scripting.
  • Working knowledge of software design patterns and Python unit test testing framework.
  • Understanding of code coverage metrics and how to determine testing quality.
  • Working knowledge of Pytest testing framework :
  • Parameterized tests
  • Tests that throw exceptions
  • Mocking
  • Inter-test dependencies and ordering
  • Working knowledge of Sapling OR Mercurial OR GIT and VSCode.
  • Experience with CI / CD tools and processes.
  • Excellent understanding of software testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
