Strong understanding of commercial loan origination and approval process including roles and responsibilities of lenders / relationship managers and underwriters
Strong understanding of commercial loan types, collateral types, and deal structures
Strong understanding of related business documentation including term sheets and credit presentations
Strong understanding of lending regulations
Commercial underwriting experience (5 years)
Understanding of individual and business financial statements including balance sheet, income statement and cash flow
Understanding of standard financial spreads for individuals and businesses including financial ratios, combined statements and global cash flow
Familiar with rent rolls, unit mix and net operating statements
Understanding of covenants, covenant calculations, tracking, and testing
Familiar with credit approval process, authorities and controls
Familiar with risk rating, PD (Probability of Default) and LGD (loss given default)
Strong organizational and project management skills
Proficient with Excel, Word, PowerPoint
CreditLens certification (good to have); Candidate must be willing to pursue and successfully complete certification process through Capgemini.
High-level knowledge of software configuration and implementation
Strong communication skills and comfortable working with senior level executives
