Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Microsoft SQL Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Microsoft SQL database systems to ensure their performance, availability, and security. This role includes providing both Logical and Physical Database support and working closely with other IT professionals to support database operations and development. Our ideal candidate is familiar with the full data life cycle and has a deep understanding of logical database design and data modeling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and upgrade Microsoft SQL database software.
- Monitor database performance and optimize for efficiency.
- Implement and maintain database security measures, including user roles and privileges.
- Perform database backups and recovery operations.
- Manage database storage and capacity planning.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues.
- Develop and implement database policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with developers to design and optimize database schemas.
- Ensure data integrity and consistency across databases.
- Provide support for database-related queries and issues.
- Conduct regular data audits and manage data integrity.
- Define logical data requirements and structures for applications.
- Design and implement logical databases in accordance with end users' information needs and views.
- Perform logical database administration tasks to ensure system performance, efficiency, and reliability.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques in database administration and management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder residing within the continental U.S.
- Proficiency in SQL Server, including versions 2012 and later.
- Proven experience as an Microsoft SQL Database Administrator.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL database architecture and administration.
- Strong knowledge of T-SQL and database schema design..
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
- Outstanding problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Experience configuring monitoring solutions.
- Familiarity with database automation tools and scripting languages.
- Experience with database hosted from Virtual platforms, such as Nutanix.
- Experience with cloud-based database solutions, (e.g. Azure SQL Database)
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with other database management systems (e.g., Oracle & MySQL).
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate.
- Experience with Microsoft System Center Management Pack for SQL Server.
The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $34.21/hour - $53.45/hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.
