What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Care Staff (Residential Counselor) position at Capital Academy?
We are looking for a Bachelor's level practitioner or High School graduate with 3 or more years of experience providing direct care to youth in a behavioral health agency or institutional setting.
The candidate must be able to work the 7a - 3pm or 3pm - 11pm shift (includes weekends)
The responsibilities of the Direct Care Staff (Residential Counselor) are:
- Provide direct supervision of students
- Conduct observation checks every 15 minutes
- Teach appropriate daily living and social skills
- Implement daily schedule
- Assist with behavior management and crisis intervention
- Supervise group and recreational activities
- Transport students to appointments and scheduled outings
- Assist students with achieving their treatment and behavioral goals
- Oversee all aspects of daily living for the students
- Write incident reports when needed
- Utilize the Nurtured Heart Approach and Six Core Strategies to Reduce Seclusion and Restraint
- Utilize Handle With Care (HWC) restraint techniques when necessary
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour

Experience:
- Adolescent Direct Care: 3 years (Required)
License/Certification:
