What are the responsibilities and job description for the Information Technology Technician position at Capital Area Health Network (CAHN)?
Summary: Capital Area Health Network’s IT Technician will be responsible for providing quality support to internal team members and external clients over the phone, via email, through live chat, and in person. The Network Technician will troubleshoot software and hardware issues to determine where repairs need to be made and then plan those repairs with the Network Manager. The IT Network Technician will be cross-trained and support additional hardware and software-based applications.
Essential Functions:
- Provide technical support to clients through various channels of communication
- Troubleshoot computer software and hardware issues make repairs and perform scheduled updates
- Partner with the IT team to ensure that security software is properly installed on employee computers
- Build, configure, and deploy new desktops, laptops, VoIP, and all forms of mobile devices.
- Provide desktop support for Microsoft technologies including Windows and Office 365. This includes additional third-party applications.
- Create and maintain system documentation and operations procedures.
- Provide backup support to the IT Manager for the entire IT infrastructure.
- Maintain Confidentiality rules related to the operation of company functions and network information.
- Verify supplies that are needed and complete the supply checklist.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Associate’s degree in an IT-related field, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities.
- Experience using Electronic Health Records; Familiarity with eClinicalWorks a plus.
- A Certification required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- A Certification
- Minimum 2-year degree in an IT-related field
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to solve problems and learn quickly
- Microsoft Windows Active Directory Management including group policy, scripting, DNS, DHCP, RDS
- Network and systems administration, helpdesk, troubleshooting and support
- Working knowledge of telecommunications, telephone system management, and VoIP knowledge
- Working Knowledge in supporting and troubleshooting firewalls, routers, switches, and other typical network equipment.
- Working knowledge of Ethernet networks and TCP/IP protocol (IPv4 & IPv6)
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, climb, reach, kneel for extended periods, and lift/move up to 35 lbs. Occasionally required to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work overtime and weekends when necessary. Some travel.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work, and to meetings/trainings as required.
