Salary: This professional position follows the Collective Bargaining Agreement Salary Schedule, starting at Bachelor's, Step 1 - $52,305 for the 23/24 SY
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7.5 hours/day, 190 days/year
Job Goal: To help remediate academic deficiencies, to promote life-long learning skills, and with encouragement and support, to help raise the self-esteem and confidence students enrolled in public schools; assist in identification of student needs and supports for student success in varying instructional settings; provide consultative support to staff and families in the public-school setting.
Performance Responsibilities:
1. Promote communication among students, parents, teacher, administrators, and other educational specialists when appropriate.
2. Develop a remedial program designed to fit the needs of individual students.
3. Establish procedures for receiving student referrals, screening students for participation, and identifying appropriate instructional interventions, modifications, and learning adaptations.
4. Assess and monitor student progress, and report and interpret assessment results to students, parents, school staff, and administrators.
5. Access and review student records when appropriate
6. Provide consultative services to school administrators, faculty, parents/guardians, and other educational consultants.
7. Serve as an active member of the school's student support team when appropriate to meet student needs.
8. Participate in Individualized Education Plan meetings when appropriate.
9. Establish a schedule to deliver programs and services to students and adjust as necessary.
10. Select, adapt, or develop instructional materials to accommodate students' learning needs.
11. Deliver academic support services through individual or small group remedial plans for direct instruction.
12. Provide consultative support to school staff to encourage best practices in the classroom.
13. Serve as a resource to school staff, sharing materials, knowledge, resources, and strategies.
14. Understand Pennsylvania's academic standards and be familiar with school district curricula's relation to Pennsylvania's standards.
15. Utilize conferences, staff development activities, professional journals, professional learning communities, and other professional learning opportunities to improve professional practice.
16. Maintain office or classroom space in order to provide an appropriate learning environment for students.
17. Assist with and maintain positive relationships with school personnel and CAIU colleagues.
18. Attend CAIU-wide and CAIU Educational Services team meetings as scheduled by supervisor, except when excused.
19. Utilize current technology for instruction and record maintenance.
20. Participate in any CAIU or cross-functional teams as needed.
21. Assume any other responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor or his/her designee.
22. Assume any other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director or his/her designee.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree required; Master's preferred.
2. Active, valid Pennsylvania Instructional I certification is required.
3. Elementary Education, Special Education, and/or Reading Specialist certification required.
4. Must have strong written and verbal skills.
5. Must have the ability to build rapport with a wide variety of stakeholders.
6. Must have proficient computer skills and knowledge including use of Word, Excel, Outlook, and other software as may be required.
Salary : $53,778 - $83,857
