Salary: This professional position follows the Collective Bargaining Agreement Salary Schedule, starting at Bachelor's, Step 1 - $53,778 for the 24/25 SY

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7.5 hours/day, 190 days/year

Job Goal: To provide families and professional staff with case management and transition services to ensure that eligible young children ages 3 to school-age succeed in school and community settings, including home environments. Strong background in Autism and eligibility requirements as per IDEA and PA Chapter 14. All support provided must be consistent with IDEA federal regulations and PA Chapter 14 and Act 212 State regulations.

Performance Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate the attributes of being a “trained and knowledgeable” professional, as required by State and Federal regulations and assessed by CAIU on a regular basis.
  • Describes and shares knowledge and understanding of laws and basic education circulars related to early intervention (EI)with families and agency contacts. Laws include IDEA, PA Act 212 and PA Chapter 14.
  • Participates in the completion of forms and formats associated with the laws, including the Evaluation Report and the Individual Education Program. Writes concise and accurate reports, goals, and outcomes and can describe information contained in the reports in a professional manner.
  • Shares knowledge about normal child development and disabilities including autism. Describes ways in which disabilities impact on development with parents, CAIU staff, childcare staff, agency staff, and others.
  • Demonstrates the ability to describe the philosophy and curricula used by Preschool Program to others including parents, CAIU staff, childcare staff, and agency staff.
  • Maintains interagency and community contacts to provide information about Preschool EI services by providing information about the program including transition at age 3 and at school-age.
  • Participates in the enrollment, evaluation and school age transition processes including providing information and support to families and maintaining records as required by the Preschool EI Program.
  • Provides information to families, community agency staff, CAIU staff and others about specific children’s development that includes but is not limited to providing observations at sites, sharing instructional strategies, and supporting a consensus approach to problem solving.
  • Works with and coordinates the work of professionals who may be required in to meet regulations and IEP requirements; assembles the correct and appropriate team members as necessary.
  • Participates in the development of data collection systems by writing goals and outcomes that reflect manageable data collection.
  • Interacts with parents and other professionals in a collaborative manner which promotes the progress of eligible young children.
  • Maintains and updates knowledge base related to job responsibilities by participating in staff development activities, workshops, conventions, and reading relevant literature.
  • Gathers information about eligible young children and uses the information to present a balanced description of the child’s strengths and needs considering the interrelationship of all developmental areas.
  • Attends and facilitates meetings related to job requirements.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of staff in-service programs for EI staff, childcare staff, and others as required by the Program Supervisor.
  • Assists in recommending instructional materials, assistive technology, software, and evaluation and assessment materials.
  • Assumes any other responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor or his/her designee.
  • Assumes any other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director or his/her designee.

Salary : $53,778 - $83,857
