About the Position
A qualified client service associate candidate will embrace customer relationship management (CRM) software and financial planning technology, prefer a collaborative working environment, and appreciate a high level of autonomy and decision making. Such a candidate will strive to provide outstanding service and support to financial planning clients on an ongoing basis. This is a salaried position with potential for growth and advancement within the organization.
The role is intended to be performed on a hybrid basis – 2 days work from home/remote, and 3 days from our office in the Union Market area of Washington, D.C.
The ideal candidate will have 3 or more years of experience performing administrative, operations, and client service-related duties within the financial services industry. Credit will be given for experience in a related industry, such as accounting, law, and/or insurance.
Responsibilities
- Own the entire onboarding process for new clients, and maintain the annual financial planning calendar for existing clients
- Track outstanding financial planning related tasks in the CRM system to ensure their timely completion
- Assist the financial planning team with data entry and document preparation for client meetings
- Correspond with the firm’s compliance team to ensure tasks, conversations, meetings, and other events are documented and recorded appropriately
- Build and maintain a strong working relationship with the firm’s clients and correspond regularly with them via phone or email
- Assist clients with inbound account-related questions, problem solve, and perform research to respond to the inquiry.
- Occasionally assist the financial planning team in preparing reports and presentations for current and prospective client meetings
- Other similar duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- 3 years of financial services experience
- Foundational knowledge of financial services related terms and topics
- Foundational knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) software
- Strong technical writing and technical communication skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related discipline
- FINRA Series 63/65 or 66 securities license
- Proficiency with Wealthbox, Redtail, Advisor Engine, Salesforce, or similar customer relationship management (CRM) software
- Experience creating and managing tasks and workflows within CRM software
- Experience with Asset Map, Money Guide Pro, eMoney, Naviplan, Wealthfront, or similar financial planning software
- Experience preparing new account forms and other investment related paperwork at a major bank or custodian (such as Charles Schwab).
