Summary
As a Board Certified Behavior Analyst at Capital Area Speech/Occupational Therapy, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality behavioral therapy services. This position is essential to our mission of enhancing the lives of individuals through effective therapeutic interventions for children ages 2-5 years.
Candidates must have:
Comprehensive knowledge of and understanding of family and team dynamics.
Ability to contribute as a leader and facilitator on teams that include parents, caregivers, teachers, SLPs & OTs, and other professional staff.
Ability to work sensitively with families from a variety of cultural orientations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations to assess client needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Implement applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques to promote positive behavioral changes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive care for clients.
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary based on data-driven outcomes.
- Provide training and support to families and caregivers on behavior management strategies.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Participate in community outreach initiatives to promote awareness of behavioral health services.
Qualifications
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification is required.
- Demonstrated experience in behavioral therapy and applied behavior analysis.
- Strong diagnostic evaluation skills with the ability to develop effective treatment plans.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and documentation practices is beneficial.
- Experience in special education settings is a plus but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to collect and analyze research data to inform practice.
