Position Overview :
We are seeking a dynamic Investigative Editor to lead our watchdog coverage across Louisiana. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the nuances of investigative journalism, a passion for local and state news, and the ability to guide a diverse team of reporters and editors on both aggressive deadline investigative reporting and investigative project work. The right candidate will be a strong writer and compassionate leader who can juggle an array of responsibilities. Candidates should also be committed to growing our reach and our subscribers through multiple platforms, including our website, social media, newsletters, and yes, still in print.
Key Responsibilities :
- Leadership & Management :
Oversee investigative reporting statewide, including hiring, training, and mentoring both reporters and working with many editors.
Work with the Editor and managing editors to implement strategic initiatives that align with the organization's goals.
Ensure all content meets the highest standards of accuracy, fairness, and clarity.
Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, stakeholders, and sources to enhance coverage.
