Summary:
As the Strategic Partner BSA Manager, you will play a crucial role in executing the Strategic Partner AML/CFT quality assurance program, working alongside and reporting directly to the BSA Officer. Your responsibilities will include aligning the Bank's Strategic Partner programs, policies, and KYC/CIP/CDD workflows with the Bank's. You will continuously monitor, evaluate, and report on the performance of fintech solutions, ensuring they meet the bank's quality and compliance standards.
This role requires a strong understanding of both fintech and banking operations, with a focus on AML/AFC compliance. It involves establishing partnerships within Financial Crimes Compliance as well as Program Management, Consumer Compliance, and Compliance Testing. This position provides an exciting and unique opportunity to directly influence the bank's fintech strategy, ensuring that fintech integrations are compliant, scalable, and operationally efficient, while maintaining continuous improvement across the partnership lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and update a quality assurance program for Strategic Partner processes and controls.
- Conduct scheduled policy reviews to ensure that Strategic Partner policies and operations are aligned with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Work with Program Management to align Strategic Partner KYC/CIP/CDD processes and workflows with the Bank's policies and improve operational consistency.
- Review Strategic Partner auditors' letters of engagement, ensuring audit scopes are aligned with the Bank's standard scope of work requirements.
- Monitor the performance of automated agents and third-party platforms.
- Identify and document areas of improvement in Strategic Partner programs, ensuring continuous enhancement of processes and systems.
- Leverage your experience to form and support recommendations to optimize processes.
- Organize and manage remediation efforts alongside the BSA Officer and Program Managers.
- Provide periodic updates on quality assurance reporting, documenting progress, areas of improvement, and compliance status.
- Coordinate with the VP of Compliance Testing to ensure Strategic Partner AML/CFT testing corrective action is tracked and completed.
- Participate in monthly Strategic Partner compliance meetings to ensure ongoing compliance and address any emerging issues.
- Manage requests from Program Managers, providing timely and efficient responses to queries and project needs.
Specifications and Requirements:
- Experience: 5 years of experience in AML/AFC compliance and quality control or assurance roles.
- Industry Background: A solid understanding of the fintech ecosystem and the banking-as-a-service (BaaS) model. Previous experience managing projects. Management of BaaS or financial technology AML/CFT is highly preferred.
- Analytical and Curious: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex partnerships and business operations.
- Initiative and Drive: A demonstrated self-starter who can effectively drive projects to completion, and the ability to take ownership and make tangible impact.
- Communication Excellence: Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders.
- ACAMS Certification: ACAMS or equivalent qualification is preferred.
- Regulatory Proficiency: Solid understanding of financial crimes compliance requirements is required, encompassing anti-money laundering, KYC/KYB, transaction monitoring, and sanctions.
