Position Overview
We are looking for a Junior Estimator to join our dynamic team. This entry-level role is ideal for someone eager to build a career in construction estimating. The Junior Estimator will assist in project take-offs, bid preparation, and cost analysis while learning the ins and outs of the estimating process. This is a great opportunity for someone detail-oriented with strong analytical skills who is looking to grow within a fast-paced and innovative company.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in performing quantity take-offs for concrete construction projects.
- Support lead estimator/ the estimating team in preparing bids and proposals.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and addenda to determine scope and requirements.
- Work with vendors and subcontractors to obtain material and labor pricing.
- Assist in developing cost estimates and budgets based on project requirements.
- Maintain and organize project documentation, bid schedules, and historical cost data.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and internal estimating strategy discussions.
- Support the transition from estimating to project management by ensuring accuracy in bid details.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in construction, estimating, or a related field (internship or coursework may be considered).
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software (experience with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar a plus).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred but not required.
