Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Debt Collector to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting outstanding debts from debtors who have gone to collection upon request of companies in a timely and professional manner. Candidate must have Skip Tracing and dealing with high volume debt collection experience. Having knowledge with filing for garnishments and bankruptcies is a plus. The ideal candidate will be able to negotiate with patients and insurance companies to resolve payment issues, utilizing their excellent phone etiquette skills.
Duties:
- Manage multiple delinquent accounts for debt collection efforts.
- Work closely with customers to communicate how much they owe the company, set a payment deadline and assist them with a payment plan to eventually resolve their deb
- Plan a course of action to recover outstanding payments.
- Handle questions or complaints.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in payments or accounts.
Skills:
- Negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Efficient with Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel and Outlook
- Have prior knowledge of Skip Tracing
- Communication Etiquette
- Patience and ability to manage stress
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of federal, state and local collection laws and regulations such as Regulation F and Fair Debt Collection Practice Act
THE IDEAL Candidate WILL HAVE
- Strong work ethic including attendance, dependability and punctuality
- Have and maintain high standards of professionalism
- High school diploma or equivalent required; undergraduate degree preferred; advanced degrees welcomed
- Minimum of 2-years previous collections and call center experience required
- Minimum 2-years of third-party collections experience
- Fluent in English required; bilingual in Spanish is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and goal-oriented
- Ability to prioritize work and focus consistently on task at hand
- Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly, utilizing proper grammar and telephone etiquette
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
