Responsibilities
- Perform all duties of an Orthodontic Assistant (OA) within the scope of the license, including but not limited to chairside assisting, taking radiographs, and maintaining patient records.
- Assist the dentist with comprehensive orthodontic care.
- Prepare and maintain dental instruments, equipment, and materials for procedures.
- Ensure a clean and organized work environment, adhering to infection control protocols and sterilization procedures.
- Protect patient privacy by adhering to HIPAA protocols.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating patient appointments.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure a smooth workflow and exceptional patient experience.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in orthodontic technology.
Requirements:
- Current OA license in the state of California
- CPR certified
- Commitment to delivering exceptional patient care
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an OA (preferred)
- Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
- Proficiency in taking dental radiographs (X-rays)
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Intermediate computer skills
- Detail-oriented
- Team player
- Ability to stand up to 10 hours per day
- Ability to twist and turn, if needed
