Job Summary
- Perform basic project management and estimating (with training and guidance) for selected projects with detailed review of proposal specifications, drawings, takeoff information, subcontractor quotes, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field. Equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience is also acceptable.
- Two years of construction industry experience preferred.
- Introductory knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods); craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations; engineering, estimating, schedules and safety required.
- Proficient knowledge and skills in using various Microsoft Office applications, most importantly Word and Excel.
- Must have a safe driving record and a valid driver’s license according to legal requirements.
- Candidate to reside in a location such as Ohio or Kentucky and have the ability to be in the office daily as needed.
- PM Certified
- Emphasis on traffic signals, street lighting, and/or intelligent transportation system projects preferred.
- Electrical project management preferred.
- Requires self-motivated personal drive, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and complete projects on schedule and budget.
- Must be able to function in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Excellent communication and supervisory skills are essential.
- The individual should be able to identify and resolve problems quickly and gather and analyze information skillfully.
- Manage difficult customer and employee situations, respond promptly to customer needs, and solicit customer feedback to improve service.
- Must maintain confidentiality and contribute to a team-oriented work environment.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Develop and submit bids to prospective Prime Contractors.
- Develop material/equipment lists for prospective bids and projects.
- Request quotes from electrical suppliers and issue Purchase Orders for projects.
- Collect and submit electrical shop drawings for projects, ensuring compliance with specifications, drawings, and contractual requirements. This includes tracking shop drawing submittals, reviews and approvals.
- Receive and verify the accuracy of order deliveries against purchase orders.
- Site visits, as required, to ensure the project is tracking correctly and resources are available to meet project demands.
- Coordination of manpower, equipment and materials with the Project Superintendent.
- Coordination and verification of utility locates on projects.
- Tracking and collection of daily work items completed on projects.
- Track project actual costs against budgeted costs.
- Oversee and/or process day-to-day administrative items, as required.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all project documentation, including but not limited to correspondence, billing, purchase orders, change orders, submittals, schedules, etc.
- Supervise total construction effort to ensure the project is constructed according to design, codes & standards, budget, and schedule. This includes interfacing with client representatives, other contractors, etc
- Ensure company and industry safety policies and procedures are followed on projects.
- Duties may be performed in either an office or field office environment.
- Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned. Job tasks may vary depending on the project, location, and available staff.
Salary is negotiable based on experience and education.
