About Capital Good Fund

Capital Good Fund (“Good Fund”) is a U.S. Treasury-certified nonprofit Community Development Financial institution with a mission to create pathways out of poverty and advance a green economy through inclusive financial services. Since 2009, Good Fund has originated approximately 16,000 loans at a combined value of $48 million across 11 states.

In addition to its loan programs, Good Fund also operates a solar leasing program called BRIGHT that helps low- and moderate-income families access solar at no upfront cost and with day one energy savings. This program is currently operating in Georgia and Pennsylvania, and is likely to continue spreading across the country over the next four years.

The Opportunity

Capital Good Fund has been awarded an $156 million Solar for All grant under the EPA’s Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund to bring the benefits of solar to thousands of low-income and disadvantaged Georgians over the next five years. Over the next 5 years, Good Fund seeks experienced staff to support and to serve as subject matter experts on federal grant compliance, develop standards and processes, and train staff, subrecipients, and contractors on various requirements and procedures relative to the grant.  This position is contingent upon contract award and grant funding.

For Solar for All to be successful, Good Fund will need a robust community engagement strategy. A key tenant of this strategy is deploying “Community Engagement Specialists” across the state. Each Community Engagement Specialist will be assigned to a specific region and will serve as the primary ambassador for Good Fund and the Solar for All program in that area.

  • Must have reliable transportation and a willingness to drive up to two hours for meetings and events
  • Must be outgoing, personable, and a self-starter
  • Must have basic technology skills (email, Google suite, etc.)
  • Must be willing to learn more about solar, clean energy financing, and the Solar for All program
  • Must have an ability to communicate complex topics to audiences with different interests and levels of knowledge
  • Must have a commitment to climate action and social and racial equity

Desired Qualifications

  • Fluency with Spanish or another relevant second language
