Tai Chi Exercise Instructor & Educator
FLSA Exemption Status: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY (Basic Purpose Of The Job)
Responsible for sharing movement and mindfulness through exceptional, and engaging Tai Chi
classes. Leads clients in a group environment, through a pre-arranged format of exercises
designed to enhance overall fitness, strength and endurance, while insuring the safety of clients
is not compromised.
Minimum Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Personal Training certification or Group Exercise certification such as: American Council on Exercise (ACE), Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), or National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) or Tai Chi equivalent based upon specific exercise modality, and/or certification, education, or training in area of specialty to include but not limited to Exercise, Stress Management, Mindfulness, Health and Nutrition. AHA Heartsaver AED or AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
Experience: Experience as a Tai Chi group fitness instructor within specialization.
Other Credentials: AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider,AHA Heartsaver AED preferred, American Red Cross CPR/AED accepted.
Knowledge and Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledgeable in Health and Wellness field and possess a professional image.

- Available to work varied schedules including later afternoon, evenings and weekend
- Delivers inspirational and well thought out classes to clients of all levels, abilities and
- Warmly greets clients with a smile and eye contact. Anticipates client’s needs and
- Develops safe, professional, and comprehensive programs that drive client goal
- Instructs and monitors clients during training classes on safe and effective movement.
- Follows all Capital Health Studio policies and standards regarding class schedule,
time.
- Educates classes on current health and fitness issues and trends and refers clients to the
- Builds rapport and engages clients on a daily basis, ensuring all clients feel competent,
- Understands, discusses, and promotes the studio and Capital Health and be actively
- Remains flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by
- Remains current on certifications, credentials and continuing education.
