Sr. Director, Project & Program Management - Risk ManagementSenior Directors in Risk Management have the ability to adjust their approach to meet unique needs across multiple stakeholder groups within a complex organization. Successful candidates will demonstrate a proven track record of program management, strategic planning, change and risk management; as well as change resiliency to maintain momentum in a dynamic, fast-paced and complex environment among competing priorities; in addition, strong relationship building and communication skills to engage and influence critical stakeholders. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, who is capable of driving transformational change and delivering game-changing value with a high level of exposure to executives across lines of business. Successful Senior Directors will create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the company. With these skills, they serve as change agents to effectively challenge business leaders on our highest profile risk projects.Responsibilities : Providing strategic program leadership and driving program alignment in a matrixed, highly complex regulated environmentSpearheading large scale Risk Management Program Management / GovernanceDesigning, developing, and managing risk management-focused project plans in a complex dynamic environment, revising needs to meet changing requirementsEnsuring projects are being delivered on time and on budget within a challenging environment while simultaneously managing riskDesigning and maintaining well-managed gap closure and validation where neededMonitoring, reporting and escalating status and risksCommunicating program requirements across the organization, to both internal and external stakeholders as neededPartnering cross-functionally with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project deliveryReport out on program status, risks, issues and decisions to a wide variety of constituents across the company; flags critical risks and / or concerns to Risk Management and Business LeadershipLeading critical assessments on risk categories to mitigate risk to the companyBuilding relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitmentsThe ideal candidate will : Exhibit outstanding influencing skills to effectively drive projects and program effortsDemonstrate a proven track record of excellent project management in a highly regulated environment, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environmentDisplay a passion for coaching and developing others through their leadership style and presence, whether as direct reports, extended team members or third party resourcesHave excellent communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders at all levels across the company, as well as external stakeholders and regulatory agencies, to manage, inform and influence outcomesBasic Qualifications : Bachelor’s Degree or military experienceAt least 10 years of risk management experienceAt least 7 years of project or program management experienceAt least 7 years of experience supporting, partnering or interacting with internal business clientsAt least 5 years of people management experiencePreferred Qualifications : Master’s Degree or MBA10 years of project or program management experience10 years of people management experienceProject Management Professional (PMP), Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification5 years of project management experience leading cross functional programs in riskExperience working in the financial services industryAt this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.McLean, VA : $234,000 - $267,100 for Sr. Director, Risk ManagementRichmond, VA : $212,800 - $242,800 for Sr. Director, Risk ManagementCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and / or long term incentives (LTI).
