As a Senior Java Software Engineer at Capital One, you will play a crucial role in leading transformative initiatives that deliver impactful solutions.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects, directing a team of skilled developers proficient in distributed microservices and full-stack systems to ensure effective regulatory compliance.
Showcase your enthusiasm for cutting-edge technology by exploring new trends and tools, engaging with internal and external tech communities, and mentoring fellow engineers.
Collaborate with product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that enhance user experiences and empower millions of Americans in their financial journeys.
Leverage programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, HTML / CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, and Go, while utilizing tools and services like AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree.
A minimum of 4 years of experience in software engineering (does not include internship experience).
At least 1 year of experience in cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud).
Preferred Qualifications :
Master's Degree.
7 years of experience in one or more of the following languages : JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go.
3 years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service.
4 years of experience in open-source frameworks.
1 year of experience in people management.
2 years of experience in Agile methodologies.

The salary for this position ranges from $175,800 - $200,700 in Richmond, VA, and $193,400 - $220,700 in McLean, VA. Other locations will have salary ranges applicable to those areas.
This position is also eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and / or long-term incentives.
