What are the responsibilities and job description for the Roller Operator - Asphalt Paving Crew position at Capital Paving & Construction Llc?
Capital Paving and Construction is seeking an experienced Asphalt Roller Operator to work with our paving crew on projects in and around the Springfield, MO area.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate roller to achieve compaction and smoothness
- Maintain daily equipment maintenance including, fueling, watering, checking oil, and greasing equipment
- Provide preventative maintenance to ensure equipment is safe and operating properly
- Regularly clean equipment to preserve its quality and functionality
- Perform minor repairs on equipment issues. Report needs for larger repairs to the appropriate parties
- Commit to the overall safety of the work environment by always taking extra precautions to work with the utmost care and consideration
- Perform general laborer duties when not operating the roller
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2 years or more of industry related experience is required, with an emphasis on roads, highways, and bridges.
- Knowledge of proper operation of heavy equipment as well as safety standards
- Ability to maintain, inspect, clean, and occasionally repair equipment
- Attention to detail and situational awareness to maintain the safety of the work environment
- Strong work ethic and physical ability to lift 50 pounds
- Able to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Must be willing to work at night and travel when required
- Must show up to work on time at the designated meeting spot.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical
