What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scheduler - Civil Construction Projects position at Capital Paving & Construction Llc?
General Summary of Position: The Scheduler will be part of a cross-functional team environment and be charged with maintaining accurate project schedules. The Scheduler will also provide oversight of construction related project planning and scheduling across the Capital Paving & Construction System. This position will be based out of Jefferson City, Missouri.
JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with the Project Management Team to develop, maintain and manage all construction projects within programs such as the Primavera P6 program; This is to include all phases of the construction projects, including submittals, procurement, construction, and closeout.
- Prepare estimates and forecasts during the life-cycle of the project, responsible for reporting schedule deliverables to the project team and the Client
- Create Global schedules to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet completion deadlines for all projects.
- Create baseline schedule and support approval effort for projects.
- Determine reasonable schedule logic, duration and constraints based on interactive planning sessions with project teams.
- Review, analyze, report, and adjust project metrics to include, but not limited to, labor resources, equipment resources, critical path, cost/revenue loading, schedule content, variance analysis, etc.
- Utilize critical path analysis and what-if scenarios to fully support the project team
- Perform spot check site inspections to assess actual progress
- Put together issue folders to capture impacts and delays to schedules and recommend mitigation/recovery schedules; Prepare time impact analysis and data needed for change orders and time & cost related claims.
- Suggest corrective actions and develop recovery plans over potential delays captured above
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering discipline or Construction Management required.
- 5-10 years experience in project scheduling, preferably within the heavy civil construction industry.
- Primavera P6 experience preferred with understanding how to resource load activities to provide tables and graphs of required resources. Resources to include labor, equipment, overall costs, and anticipated revenue.
- Applicant needs to be able to demonstrate and understand Best CPM Scheduling Practices.
- Experience working with multiple projects of varying size and complexity.
- Strong communication skills; must be able to communicate with all levels within the organization.
- Ability to problem solve and adjust as needed.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting stringent deadlines. Problem solve and adjust to changing circumstances.
