What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cost Accounting/Budget Analyst position at Capital Program Management Inc?
Job Description:
Capital Program Management (CPM) seeks a cost accounting/budget analyst to work with program and project managers and school district financial/accounting departments to develop, monitor, and adjust budgets for new construction and/or modernization projects. You will also assist with the preparation of various accounting reports, write protocols and procedures, and prepare and present training and reporting materials.
Responsibilities include:
· Input of accounting data into software system following firm protocols.
· Review and analyze invoices from vendors for appropriate charges and route for approvals to appropriate individuals.
· Reconcile financial records between CPM and school district’s/public works entity’s accounting systems.
· Communicate with clients on various levels regarding budgets and transactions for Capital projects.
· Work with project managers on construction budgets for individual projects from development of budget to monitoring, adjusting, and closing out of projects.
· Prepare monthly financial reports to be distributed to School Boards, Oversight Committees and various management personnel.
· Prepare mandated state reports for individual capital projects funded with state monies.
Qualifications needed:
· Proficient with MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook
· Ability to analyze financial related documents for irregularities and errors
· Extremely detail oriented, organized and efficient
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent work experience
· Familiarization with School accounting systems a plus
· 3-5 years experience
