Capital Pump & Equipment (CPE) was founded in 2013. CPE is the number 1 full-service pump company in the Phoenix Metro area offering sales, service and rental of multiple pump brands. We are growing and looking to expand our team by adding an Accountant.
Job Description Summary
The Accountant will function as a key member of the accounting team which currently consists of AP, AR, and Payroll. The position will report directly to the Controller. The candidate will help maintain strong accounting controls while providing support to the CPE team and back up AP, AR, and Payroll. The primary duties consist of maintaining the general ledger, researching account variances, analyzing financial records, preparing journal entries, developing/working with spreadsheets and reports, performing monthly closing functions (sales tax returns and fixed assets), ensuring the financial integrity of CPE's operations, reviewing inventory, reviewing AP batches, and working with AR to ensure timely collection on accounts. This hands-on role requires the successful candidate to work at a detailed task level and a higher support level.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy
- 2 plus years of experience in accounting/finance with general ledger responsibilities.
- Experience in analyzing accounting records and entities for accuracy and conformance to GAAP.
- Experience in month end closing and preparing financial statements.
- Prior work with SAGE accounting software is preferred.
- Prior work with Point of Rental software is preferred.
- Experience with maintenance of fixed assets.
- Maintain subsidiary ledgers and monthly account reconciliations.
- Construction and service industry knowledge preferred.
- Bank Reconciliation experience.
- Payroll processing experience is a plus.
- Ability to work as a team and help where needed.
- Ability to work full-time on-site, Monday- Friday.
