What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inside Sales - Pump Rentals position at Capital Pump & Equipment?
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist walk-in and call-in customers by understanding their equipment rental needs, recommending appropriate solutions, and processing rental orders.
- Take a hands-on approach by showcasing equipment features and benefits, ensuring customers fully understand its capabilities.
- Load and unload customers' vehicles by operating various types of forklifts as needed.
- Establish new rental and sales accounts, negotiate prices, and ensure all transactions adhere to pricing policies.
- Dispatch delivery trucks, setting clear customer expectations regarding equipment delivery and service timelines.
- Handle high-volume orders, ensuring details such as equipment availability, transportation, and contracts are processed efficiently.
- Collaborate with the service department to ensure equipment is fully serviced and ready for dispatch, tracking availability, and coordinating returns.
- Generate leads for new business opportunities and communicate them to the outside sales team.
- Make a minimum of 10 inside sales calls daily, including calls to at least two declining accounts and alerting the Outside Sales team of incoming requests.
- Proactively reach out to inactive or lapsed accounts to reestablish connections, recover lost business, and grow the customer base.
- Maintain an updated inventory on contracts and close all eligible contracts weekly.
- Ensure the branch's showroom is clean, well-stocked, and presentable at all times.
- Regularly inspect equipment to ensure it is rental-ready and manage the equipment fleet to track utilization and maintenance.
- Actively support after-hours and emergency response needs, ensuring urgent customer requests are handled promptly and equipment is delivered on time.
- Collaborate closely with outside sales, service technicians, and branch managers to align on goals, share leads, and optimize sales and service efforts.
- High School Diploma or GED required; a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is beneficial.
- Experience in the rental/pump industry is highly preferred; HDPE fusion experience is a plus.
- Excellent relationship-building and customer service skills, with strong multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in handling contracts, dispatching equipment, and administering rental agreements.
- Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL and DOT Medical Card are a plus.
- Forklift certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Must wear a Capital Pump & Equipment shirt while on duty and maintain a professional appearance.
