CRG is now seeking to hire a FSS Coordinator to add to our amazing team.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Coordinator will be responsible for the implementation and operation of the FSS Program in order to serve low-to-moderate income families participating in the Project Based Program. The FSS Coordinator shall also be responsible for pre/post counseling, educating, and assisting individuals, families, and qualified applicants in meeting their housing needs including rental assistance, counseling, and assisting clients with obtaining the necessary supportive service to obtain affordable mortgages for the purchase of homes. The FSS Coordinator will be responsible for outreach and recruitment of program participants, and create activities for job opportunities, affirmatively further fair housing, and strengthening the capacity of state and local government, nonprofit and lending partners.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To recruit, enroll, and regularly maintain a minimum of 25 FSS participants, providing regular and ongoing case management for each participant and family based on their needs assessment, ITSP, and CoP, ensuring all participants enter into and abide by the ITSP and CoP, terminating participants who are non-compliant and graduating participants who fulfill their requirements.
- Identify potential individuals or families and encourage them to participate in the FSS and Housing Counseling Programs.
- Plan, market, and implement extensive recruitment and outreach strategies.
- Create brochures, flyers, etc. for dissemination of information.
- Conduct orientation meetings with new participants quarterly or as needed.
- Shall provide counseling in the areas of rental assistance, financial/money management, homeownership, fair housing, and first-time home buyers’ education. This includes face-to-face interviews and screening to determine objectives and financial status.
- Shall develop an Individual Training and Services Plan- ITSP for each participating family that includes, but not limited to, career assessments, housing goals, resume writing, job search strategies, education programs, etc.
- Motivate and encourage participants while tracking and maintaining records of activities (quarterly) to ensure program compliance and outcomes for the Project Based Voucher Program, Housing Counseling Program, Action Plan and NOFA policy requirements.
- Collect data and provide feedback as needed for program evaluation.
- Shall develop and maintain a list of community and social service agencies where assistance can be obtained in relation to individual or family problems beyond the scope of the program and shall make appropriate referrals.
- Shall develop and maintain a working relationship with community agencies, banks, and lending institutions to help participants become self-sufficient and/or into homeownership.
- Assures that program participants are linked to the supportive services they need to achieve economic self-sufficiency and/or homeownership.
- Acts as a liaison between a potential homeowner, the lender, and the closing agent in the mortgage loan process. Prepares required documents to process mortgage applications. Coordinate loan closings with closing agents.
- Coordinate events /conduct workshops, fairs, etc.
- Post articles of program participants’ successes on websites and newsletters.
- Establish FSS escrow account for FSS participants and give the family a report on the amount at least once a year.
- Determine which, if any, interim goals must be completed before any FSS escrow funds may be paid to the family as according to FSS Contract of Participation.
- Determine if the family has completed his/her FSS Contract and disburse escrow funds if the family has provided a written certification that no member of the family is receiving welfare assistance.
- Submit FSS escrow amounts to be paid monthly, for each program participants, to the designated department.
- Assist with the reconciliation of FSS Escrow accounts.
- Shall meet with a local Advisory Board at least Quarterly to discuss obtaining public and private supportive services, funding, and commitments.
